Pres. Trump's tariffs on foreign steel and aluminum leave Tennessee whiskey and other moonshine makers feeling moody as they cope with international backlash and higher import costs.https://abcn.ws/2DiJmrG

It’s not that easy though. US Steel manufacturers are ramping up their prices because they know they are the only source.

Oh, I see! Let’s point fingers at everyone else, not the guy that implemented the tariffs in the first place.

no blaming the people who CAUSED the issue to go overseas, in the first place, or do you not want US jobs?

Well, we can start by both pointing fingers at Trump on that. Didn’t he build both Trump Hotels in Las Vegas and Chicago with Chinese steel and spent over $350,000,000 on aluminium for the latter?

Yes abc, we as a country should just lay down and let our trade partners walk all over us. It's worked well hasn't it?

News flash! It’s not exactly working out great now, is it? Redundancies from US car manufacturers, iconic American company Harley looking at moving countries, farmers being subsidised by tax payers to offset foreign trade levies.

Why do you think this initiative would work right out of the box? It's not even out of the box. When the trade playing field is finally & truly level, all will benefit and quite frankly, that cannot be denied. I do however feel for those negatively affected in the short term.

Interesting question, to which my answer would be, why would you think this initiative would work - at all? Even lay people could see how this was going to turn out, just like his dumb wall idea and Mexico paying.

Funny, I don’t recall putting that comment down anywhere! I thought I was criticising dumb trade tariffs that is punishing American workers. Still, ideology above common sense, eh?

Its ok to feel moody, but wait and the outcome will be better than they could ever imagine. Trump is making America a power again around the world. Just look @ Mexico & Canada's about face. We have everything to gain, Obama & Democrats had made us lose almost everything.

Jaja. That's so funny. He's riding on the wave that the prior administration set up. With all these tariffs and the dispute he is having with the fed chairman, I doubt the economy will last as strong. And the tax breaks. We'll see when we pay more taxes next year.
