That’s a great way to look at it. And the second part is if you vote for democrats you are voting for the very same ideological lineage that fought to keep your ancestors from freedom.

What? The changes in the Democratic party back in The 60's and 70's kinda make that a falsehood. Those went to conservative Republican party, then in 2016 the used to be liberal, centrist, moderate Republican went either Liberal or Democrat. If you have to comment get it right.

Don’t bother. They know the truth. They’re just being disingenuous.

a question i often think about: how many of the younger folks realize people died to get them the right to vote? is this history being lost?
-
Yes. It is being lost, and it’s by design. The GOP benefits from an unaware and under-educated electorate.

I feel like this is the same thing as saying sitting during the anthem is disrespecting your country tbh.
-
I’d have to disagree, friend. Sitting down during an anthem does not directly affect the election of government officials. Your vote does. Thank you for watching!
-
It's still not disrespecting anyone,it's a choice which is the whole point, forcing people or guilting them into something you dont want isn't a choice.Maybe people have a good reason for not throwing their vote away because they don't like one side? Its not like both are perfect
-
I feel like this is part of the problem, that voting is seen as an A or B option. There are many options! I would still have to agree with the original sentiment, when considering the number of women who were institutionalized, jailed or killed trying to earn our right to vote.
-
Again, thanks for watching and thanks for the chat!
-
.. he realized he was shooting himself in the foot by not allowing his voice to be heard, so he started voting. He has participated in every election since, and so have I.
-
Sorry, I’m a bit confused. The end of your story states that your father realized how defeating it was to not vote and that you both have been voting since, which aligns with my argument. But you disagree with me? No hate at all, just trying to understand your point. Thanks!

Why are there so many people that have a problem with the message of "Get out and vote"?
-
Because the GOPS don't like ppl voting, and reason why they do all types of method, to stop you from voting.
-
I second your tweet!

And this would apply to EVERY American, as women—and everyone has a mother—got the right to vote just under a century ago. Honor thy Mother and VOTE!!
