More proof net neutrality is nothing more than a con-job based solely on competing corporate interests.

There is much more to it. It's about Freedom of Information. It's not how the founding engineers and us networking pioneers envisioned the internet. My ISP should not be able to throttle me or punish me for what I do with my kilobytes.
-
The only reason you're limited in ISP options to begin with is because state and local governments grant effective monopolies for providers. Eliminate those regulations and you'll be able to choose from even more providers. Which means more freedom.
-
No I'm sorry that's the trick to it. Just because you have more options doesn't mean you have good options. I'd rather have two options that don't throttle or watch and manage what I do than 6 options that can charge me more or punish me for what I do with my kilobytes.
-
Then you should open your own internet service and cash in with like-minded consumers. And to think, it didn't even require you to impose your will on hundreds of millions of other people who would prefer a market-based solution rather than govt-created monopolies.
-
Been there done that retired from it. Not in that business anymore. It's better controlled by the big giant corporations. This is one issue that shouldn't be handled by small business.
-
The market will provide solutions that states will not. Govt limits choices I'm intelligent enough to make on my own.
-
Exactly. At one point I lived in an area with 4 ISPs, I shopped around until I found one that gave me the service I expected as a paying customer. There was no "net neutrality" and the freedom of choice made things far better for everyone.

California... The - "We do whatever we want but all other states must do what we want them to" state. Net Neutrality was always the opposite of Net Neutrality. As has been referenced many times, The Patriot Act... was the opposite of patriotic in many ways. Pretty words. Thats it
-
Net neutrality is what we want, no?
-
Not the bill Net Neutrality, that wasn't instituted until 2008ish and only subverted all the Net Neutrality that was inherent on the internet. Notice, we made it until 2008 without government takeover of the internet... And it survived just fine. We like it that way.
