So much for free thoughts and free speech.

People are allowed to think what they want. She’s not being paid to defend racism on national television.pic.twitter.com/WOasV1CuMN

Nobody stopped her from saying it... She maintained her free speech, as we all do. Freedom of speech does not guarantee freedom from consequences...
-
Her statement was that whiteface and blackface were not considered racial years ago. Blackface came from chimney sweeps, then vaudeville. I think since her ratings were low, this was an excuse they could use to get rid of her and maybe out of the contract.
-
I don't care about her or her ratings... Nobody infringed upon her freedom of speech... She, like all of us, are free to say whatever we want, however, there are consequences; loss of job and so on.
-
I agree 100%. There are consequences. People seem a bit more sensitive these days.

This whole thing is ridiculous, she makes a comment on NBC , but on another NBC show a housewife can dress up as Diana Ross and that’s ok ?

Success went to her head. Should have stayed at Fox.

Good because I’m the same age as she is and she should knows better than to go on national television defending something that’s racist. Black face was never okay even when white actors thought it was. When you know better, you do better.

Al Stoker has a lot of nerve saying anything. I stopped watching NBC 20 years ago when I had to listen to his live feeds overseas when we had no commercials to fill in between segments. I did watch Miss Kelly.
