Why exactly do they have to be sent to slaughter houses? The sounds just like complete greed and total disregard for wildlife.

They don't.
@ModocNF could have chosen to remove a little at a time and work with advocates to adopt them out. They chose to sell them to kill buyers. They don't care about these animals.

Couple pics from
#AmericanWildHorseCampaign of latest Owyhee roundup. Pls send reporters 2 these roundups. Taxpayers must understand the abuses these horses endure under@BLMWHB “management.” People r shocked 2 the core when they find out what’s going on w/ their protected herds!pic.twitter.com/XJRoLNekks

What's the matter with those people that abuse horses that are protected! Everything should be reported that tell the true story of what is really happening to peoples property! 1

Thank you for reporting on this! These horses are important to a lot of Americans and we want them protected. USFS does not have to funnel them to slaughter, they chose to do it that way and it's corruption of government IMO.

Exactly 1 year ago, Modoc tried to steal 23,000 acres of land from these horses' herd area and the only reason they were caught it because advocates took them to court. Now they are killing the horses!https://www.courthousenews.com/feds-nailed-fumbling-horse-sanctuary-whoopsie/ …

For those who don't know where the horses sold for $1 will end up, they will end up in kill pens in Texas and Louisiana. Filthy, disease-ridden places where kill buyers will sell them to Mexico for $450+ a piece. USFS is facilitating the horse slaughter trade!

@ModocNF could have done a bait/trap gather and removed a few horses at a time while groups worked to adopt them. USFS chose not to do that in favor of selling them to kill buyers for a $1. It's a terrible abuse of their power and these animals. It's shameful!#YouShouldKnowThanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

It appears that nobody in the comments bothered to read the article lol

All sappy emotion. No comprehension of feral, or the destruction they create.

Are you sure any supposed damage was caused by wild horses & not livestock?

Man, do we not learn from our own mistakes. Leave the damn things alone to live their lives.
#humansSuckSometimes -
They’re destroying indigenous flora and wiping out other species..
-
Which mistakes? What are you talking about?
-
Let nature be. Mans involvement only ruins it. Tell me where we do make improvements when we intervene?Animals that die in nature serve a purpose, for us to eradicate something will inevitably hurt another. It’s a chain reaction
-
That’s the thing though, these horses aren’t natural to the environment. Man already f’d up in putting them there and now there trying to fix it. It’s horrible to see them culled, but the strategy is based in science, not some evil plan to kill horses for fun
