So happy to see a story about the US Open finals, actually about the winner. Congratulations to Naomi. She won fair and square as per the rules of the game. Making it about anything or anyone else is unfair to the young lady. What is wrong with some people?

She should've been able to be happier about winning. I felt so bad for her and her big moment that she as a champion apologized for winning. She's here to stay though. She's very talented

This young lady showed her peers how to handle a major distraction with class an grace. She played hard she went stroke for stroke with Serena an that last serve was kick ass. Well done young lady

Serena always likes the limelight, but to deprive a woman the joy and adulation Naomi deserved upon winning her first grand slam was completely unacceptable, and frankly inexcusable and disgusting.

You are disgusting to attack @serenawilliams for comforting this young lady and also refusing to answer questions during the ceremony and asking the crowd to stop booing and celebrate this young ladies victory. What is YOUR problem???? 🤔

@Naomi_Osaka_ was the better player and deserved to win. She beat #SerenaWilliams fair and square. Serena's Behavior was hideous. She should be ashamed of herself. Naomi should be very proud

How? Please explain? @BillieJeanKing seem to get it. Why can't you? So you dismiss EVERYTHING @serenawilliams did to get the crowd to rally around the winner? Typical.

Yes. Because the winner did nothing wrong, and the winner deserved to be fought seriously by her idol. Serena's history does not exempt her from criticism or the rules.

If Serena's coach didn't coach from the stands. If Serena didn't smash her racquet. If Serena did not abuse the umpire verbally and repeatedly, I would have agreed with you. But she did all that. It was Serena who marred what could have been a happy experience for Naomi.

Did you stop to think that perhaps she’s tired of the inequality that she’s had to endure her whole life. The rules need to be applied equally and they are not, but you clearly don’t get it.

Frankly she has a record of threatening people and smashing her racquets. Considering her lengthy career she should have been well aware of these rules but she sought to escalate the issue. The ump has been a consistent stickler for rules as well, whether man or woman.

Anyway, Serena has been fined which validates the actions of the umpire. Or to put it another way, after reviewing the events, the fine confirms that Serena was wrong and at fault for this mess. Most importantly, she lost. That's a storybook ending there. Good wins over evil.
