How could a 9 year child know if they're gay or not? Let's say that's the case, how or why would said 9 year old child announce to the world they're gay? Things were put into this child's head that clearly should not have been. And we're going to put the blame on other kids, huh?

I knew I was gay at 8. It’s not all about sex dude, children develope crushes. Some people know what they are attracted to, be if mentally and physically. Better question, why is this your response to this tragedy? How heartless.
-
I love when someone like this dickbag makes comments about what a gay kid should be feeling at a certain age. If you aren’t gay how do you know??? The ignorance and not understanding of people who are different then you in this country makes me sick

Did you never have a crush at that age? The fact that you equate simple physical attraction to sexual activity is what's weird. It's possible to have a crush on someone without having sexual feelings towards them.

After reading the caption, I was enraged at the mom believing it was her fault her son committed suicide. It turned out, upon deciphering your badly written article, that the mom was supportive of her son. ABC, you could do better with your reporting.

Maybe the wrong kind of supportive even straight kids shouldn't care about sexuality this much at 9 yrs old. The fact this kid was soo obsessed with it shows the brainwashing...

His mother should be charged. What 9-year old has any sexual(or romantic) level? None.
-
Really? Have a bit of heart dude.. 9 years old is actually quite developed in this day and age.
-
It's also normal for a young boy to have those feelings and NOT be gay. His parents should have explained that, and just support him, but should not have encouraged him to "come out". He may very well have been straight, and wasn't given the chance to know if he was.
-
But even if it was a passing phase, the boy identified with being gay in that moment in his life, and he was bullied for it. Regardless of weather he continued to live a gay or straight life, he was still bullied and felt like the world was against him, and so that is the issue.
-
He should not have identified as being gay and his parents should have told him it was normal. It gave others idiots the excuse to bully. It's not right, but I've worked with kids most of my life and I don't know how to stop bullying. Just saying.
-
So for the kid who gets bullied in school but continues to identify as gay and live a healthy gay lifestyle after his schooling years, does that still make this situation acceptable? Nope. Children need to learn there will be LGBT+ people in society that they need to respect.

what I don't understand is how do you even know you're gay at 9 years,,,,,, people have curiosity and they're not gay. Society is teaching our children that just because they're soft or not as masculine as others that they're gay. just let boys be boys quick classifying them.
-
Exactly and his parents should have explained those feelings were normal at his age.

A 9-year old what...? Only in
the Society is confusing these kids... a 9-year old should be worried about getting good grades not coming out as gay. I feel sorry for him and his family -
So you never had a crush on someone at 9?
