That's it? Child neglect? I'm so tired of hearing of all these stories of children being left in cars. Listen, this is no accident. How does she not realize her daughter is not in the home...

If they start giving people 20+ years I bet this will happen less and less. It honestly just seems like a convenient way to get away with murder.

People don’t realize how stressed a parent can be thinking about money jobs bills. It’s an avoided tragedy, but I don’t fault the parent.
-
I guess we have to wait and see the circumstances. Maybe parents should start a habit of a type of roll call after getting out of cars. I know if you tell young kids it's the new way, turn it into a game, they'll remind a stressed parent But how could you not know by bedtime?

How could you not know by dinner time let alone bedtime!

I raised four kids as a single mother. But I had the good fortune that their dad was a hands on, and we had shared custody. This mother though might be doing it tough, and alone. Please let us not rush to judgment.
-
I’m sorry but there is no excuse for this period!! None!! Overnight!!!
-
Do not judge until you've heard all the facts. I'm not making excuses for her. I don't even know her. But I understand hardship, struggles, and stress. Mothers aren't perfect; everyday stresses affect them. Those of us who have come through it unscathed should be kinder.
-
@Angelin_Sydney are you for real? Tell the child we shouldn’t rush to judgement. This is inexcusable. There is no reason this should EVER happen! Period! -
Mother of twins here with very little help
. Never forgot my kids in the car; matter of fact, when the house is quiet, I get worried. I AM JUDGING

WTH??!!! Some people should not be allowed to breed.
-
Maybe they came home after dinner, but bedtime us a must. I have definitely taken the groceries out of the car before the kid, and started doing other things, but at no time would I have forgot to put my kid to bed before falling asleep.
-
I agree. I left my 3 year old in a car for 5 mins. We had a van. I assumed my other kids would get him out his carseat. The only reason I noticed he was left was because the house was too freakin' quiet...and I had 4 others that was older.

Why are parents so quick to forget their kids?? Put down the phone and enjoy the beautiful life we have been blessed with!
