Maybe young women need to be sent on mandatory courses to explore and understand consent and the consequences therein. This was assault. Simple.

It definitely was assault. For some reason, many women have a distorted conception of "social boundaries". Things like touching inappropriately or saying inappropriate things, but no ever seems to call them to account.
-
I think if we see those behaviours we have to at least flag them. We can’t have social progress if people aren’t held to account for these things. And women are too often given a free pass.
-
You know they actually prosecute women these days? They even have their own female correctional facilities now. Wow. Making a lot of progress. Surely, that’s what was wrong with society and should turn things around. We’ll be fine once we get that taken care of

-
Be snarky if you wish, but Lizzy Borden never spent a day in prison and female teachers are having sex with sixth graders and getting a slap on the wrist, if that. This is definitely a dangerous social dynamic, not just me being dramatic.

That person who pushed her should be charged with assault or worse.
-
I have unfortunately known of kids becoming paralyzed and killed from bridge jumping. If this was an adult there is
#noexcuse. This was criminal

Has the woman who pushed her been arrested yet?
-
Prob not.... if it were a man, he wouldve already been in jail.
-
Rarely happens......
-
Not really, there are plenty of examples like this, and hundred of thousands of rape kits yet to be tested because states won't fund the testing. There are plenty of examples but that means being open yo facts and not your own perceptions.

Hope the person who pushed her spends at least a few nights in jail. That's just unbelievable.
-
What a c*nt... sorry but if ever that word is used, now would be the time!
-
I mean, it's just shocking, right? Who would do that? Do you think he or she just walked away from doing that with no consequences? Sheesh.
-
I’m sure she regretted it the second she did it but instinctive reaction shows the true character of a person. Whoever pushed her, need sociological help. Probably not her fault but it’s a sign.

I sympathize with her but wouldn't it have been safer for her to stay away from the ledge if she didn't want to jump?

Agreed. But she had no control over actions of others and that's where the danger lies.
-
Peter yes man I keep saying this !
-
She knew the risk and if she really didn’t want to she would’ve got off as fast as possible . I legit live in Texas where kids do this all the time . It was a fucking freak accident .
-
Granted, she was engaging in risky behavior, and you cannot control the actions of others but there are countless acts happening every day falling everyday under the same terms: driving, riding your bike, flying in a plane, eating raw fish. When someone abuses the rules -
-
Knowing or unknowingly increases the risk they are at fault. You can measure it in degrees, but if the initiated the act their responsibility is markedly higher.
-
Thank you for saying this . I’m tired of seeing countless adults saying how evil her friend was for doing this . People jump off things and get pushed off things at resorts ALL THE TIME .
