I don’t trust employee fridges. Let alone strangers whom I am forced to work with. Condolences To The Victims & their respective families.

As someone who has worked in a large office (call center), I totally agree. People somehow lose their empathy and intelligence when it comes to someone else's lunch.
-
Every time I hear someone say they work in a large call center, I think back to all the "phantom pooper" stories of floor managers having to track down call center staff who would repeatedly defecate on the restroom floors in protest.
-
We had a sporadic offender at our work who would leave a wrapped up poop in the ladies' room trashcan. The poor housekeeping staff were beside themselves. I am seriously distressed to hear that this was not a unique and isolated crime spree, and could even be considered mild.
-
The best part of the story about this that I first read noted that when it first started happening, one of the old, experienced managers in the manager's meeting said something like "When you have 2000 employees in building, you have to expect as many as 2 to 3 phantom shitters."
-
For those in the know, there's apparently a standard ratio of slightly more than 1 per 1000 individuals who are given to improper feces disposal when faced with unanswered grievances.
-
I think if I were management I would be a little more responsive to grievances if my employees were shitting on the floor in protest.

After the first handful there should have been an investigation. This is horrible for the families. It could have been prevented.

I thought the same thing, but if he's been doing this for 18ish years, it wouldn't necessarily raise any red flags. Spreading them out so they wouldn't seem suspicious, and all seemed to be death by natural causes.

We had two co-workers die of cancer at our place and people started murmuring that it was an environmental issue since the place was built on top of an old landfill. The moment came to reup lease? Nope. New place. They won't say ti played a part but we were all happy.
-
I mean, if the company had a high turnorver then maybe? But considering he was in the same place for that long tells me that isn’t the case Shoulda raised red flags much sooner than that
