I don’t condone the shooting but is the other half of the story really mutually exclusive? If he was just involved in a drive by, had an empty clip in his pocket, and 2 guns in the car, I assume that calls for a higher threat state than someone running from a speeding ticket

A similar car was "reported" to have been involved in a shooting. Running away is not a threat requiring deadly force. The cop didn't know what was in his pockets - turns out to not be a threat. Guns left in the car are not a threat when you're running away.
-
True statement, but the point was based on the background information the officer had, he was probably evaluating the situation on an atypical threat level
-
If you're running away, you are not a threat. It is a crime to to shoot someone who is not a threat.
-
That is not a correct statement about running away not being a threat. If armed, he still is a threat. But you are right in the sense that it is a crime to shoot someone who is not a threat. A grand jury will determine the facts and circumstances, not media.

The cop is a coward who shot an unarmed young man in the back as he was running away. It is incidents like this, that led to BLM movement because you have too many racists cowardly cops that don't believe Black Lives Matter.

This cop was standing behind a parked car and shot this young man IN THE BACK as he ran away. Executed. Despicable.
-
Apparently, the cop was a rookie, really bad move on his part. Even if the Kid was a shooter, they don't allow this kind of shooting in the police. He may end up getting some jail time.

He personally shot people in a drive-by. Gun residue found on hands. The cops knew they had the right culprits. Police are only guilty of protecting and serving.
-
So, cops are now prosecutor and jury. Let's throw the 6th Amendment right out the window. You cannot shoot someone in the back as they are running away.

It is wrong to shoot someone in the back as they are fleeing. Fleeing is not a danger. This shooting is a crime. Only police supervisors should carry guns. They must account for every time the unholster their weapon.

Cops don't shoot a person with out reason. And why did they bring race into this? Race doesn't matter.
-
Race was "brought into it" because black people have a greater chance of being shot by police. When black lives matter, all lives will matter.
#BlackLivesMatter
-
Because there crime rate is higher. Its a proven fact.
-
Crime is not higher among blacks. Crime is higher in low income neighborhoods. It's not what color you are. It's where you live. You need to check your racism.
