Unfortunately, if your mitocondrial DNA has recognized you as part of an investigation, you must say what you saw or what was spoken to you directly. So, be ready everyone

I would say freeing a wrongfully convicted prisoner far outweighs any privacy concerns. It could be held under Seal. (Undisclosed to the public-at least the source of the DNA.)
-
It was an innocent question . DNA also helps free wrongly accused at times .

Privacy concerns are no concern at all. We know the FBI uses illegal wiretaps at the highest levels!

You’re ‘Right to Privacy’ ENDS when you commit a crime! At the very least it Should!
-
But it cannot be determined that you’ve committed a crime until you’ve been tried and convicted. Prior to that, you technically haven’t committed a crime.

Ppl commit crimes b4 they are convicted of them. Ya can’t be convicted if you don’t commit a crime in the 1st place.
-
But you can’t be judged to have committed a crime before going to trial and being convicted. It’s called due process of the law and innocent until proven guilty—key word “proven.” Without proof, technically there is no crime.

, they don’t get caught, you’re sayin they’re innocent! -
No! You don’t get it. You’re arguing purely from an emotional perspective. I’m arguing from one of legality and technicality. There’s a stark difference. Ponder it deeply and maybe you’ll realize that.
-
So, if someone steals your car.. you won’t be filing a police report b/c you’re saying a crime has not been committed since there is no trial etc.
-
Still not getting it. You’re irrational and hysterical. Calm down and think.

My question is how reliable is "A microscopic thread of DNA evidence in a public genealogy database". I'm all for catching the criminal, but have questions about the "public genealogy sites" themselves.

I myself believe the federal government is doing two things people know nothing about. Million-dollar life insurance policy on every individual born and a DNA sample on every individual born.
