Moral of the story: Don't commit crimes in a foreign country with your kids

-
No crime in seeking asylum. Quite lawful.
-
According to the article she crossed illegally and was apprehended. Perhaps she was on her way to the "Asylums R Us" store and simply forgot to apply at the US Embassy in Brazil. Sure, that makes sense

I’m so happy they are back together. Now the government needs to do their job and deport the “ILLEGAL” family back to Mexico. And she can come back LEGALLY. Hopefully she has learned to not break our laws
-
It’s says they are from Brazil.
-
Brazil, Mexico.. Potato, rutabaga

Should have gone about it the right way then no?
-
Dummy, they were seeking asylum. They did Ido it the right way.
-
Idiot, asylum? From Brazil ? They at war?
-
Sometimes asylum is based on personal situations like if someone is trying to kill you. It’s legal. Ideally they should have gone to a “port of entry” maybe they were trying to. Don’t know the details here.
-
ANd sometimes it's all BS, just economic migration. How many countries did they pass through??
-
That would a reason to adjudicate the asylum application not separate the mother and child for months

We get outraged when people dump dogs at the edge of town. Where is the outrage when parents dump their kids in the US? Brazil is not a war torn country. Come in the front door if you want to immigrate to the US or stay at home.

How many borders did this person cross to get to the US? And asylum from what? Brazil has the 8th largest economy in the world.
-
They’ve had civil unrest, it doesn’t matter if they are the 8th biggest economy. You can also be a personal asylum seeker.
-
Brazil has the same unrest as any 1st world country. Brazil is a top-ten country sailing on a big economic comeback. And "personal" asylum can be offered to someone within their own country, unless that someone has broken the laws in that country.
-
Oh right all 1st world countries has fuel strikes, public worker strikes, etc.
-
Exactly!! We have strikes here as well, most recently, teacher strikes. Freedom to strike is a human right--very happy the people of Brazile enjoy the same freedoms we do.
-
That is NOT the same. Just stop.
-
If you cannot respond logically and honestly, then perhaps it is you who should stop.
