Always lived Neccos. Especially the black licorice ones. Still buy at The Dollar store once in a while.

ABC is the company that assumed they had the right to fire an employee whilst she exercised her right to free speech. It's also a company that pushes David Muir to the brink of lying on each broadcast he anchors. I hope Barr & Americans try ABC in the court of public opinion.
-
*sigh* The First Amendment prevents the GOVERNMENT from limiting speech. Private employers like ABC can fire employees who exercise their free speech rights and say things the employer finds objectionable.
-
Correct private entities like ABC or the NFL can limit and punish speech and expression.
-
I think it's un-American.
-
I ban all political speech at my office, including by me. I also ban hate (which is protected by 1A too). But I also don't start the work day with the national anthem or pledge of allegiance.
-
Those are diametrically opposed ideas.
-
How so? When Bill of Rights was ratified it only applied to the federal gov't and the press and speech aspects of 1A put there to protect press and keep Congress from infringing on criticism & debate in the public arena. Not to created debates and arguments on the job.
-
Even the gov't can put time and place restrictions on speech dependent on the forum. For example, hate speech is protected free speech under 1A yet even the gov't can ban it at public (gov't) K-12 schools cuz overwhelming purpose is education.
