She needed to stay in place and answer the officers questions. And he should not have hit her repeated to the back of the head. IT IS possible to have both parties in the wrong.

He pushed her. She didn't have to give her name if there's no charges. If she did, then her name pops up with an "interaction" which is her right to refuse. The officers ego is the problem here, as well as his abusing his power. She did cooperate to the extent she needed to.
-
Of course the officers ego is a problem. No need for that assault. But There is zero penalty in society for an “interaction” with the police officer. Sorry, but cooperation with officers helps keep society civil.
-
That video still doesn't give all the facts. However, if she was suspected of public intoxication then cooperated by blowing negative breathalizer. Anything thing beyond that is submission to abuse of authority

No matter what she did, the cops punching her in the head was over the line. She weighs what 115 lbs? Even struggling how is she a threat to them? They used excessive force and now need to live with the consequences.
-
I never knew weight was a factor when arresting someone.
-
It is when restraining someone, though, obviously.
-
Not when a person is resisting law enforcement. Whether a person is 100 lbs or 300 lbs, if you resist, you will suffer the consequences.
-
Your misunderstanding of the law is an insult to law enforcement. A cop is expected to make judgement calls all the time and to apply force judiciously. They are capable of assessing someone’s size and knowing how much force to use. They’re not just robocops.
-
Maybe you should look at the root problem. If she had obeyed the LEO, none of this would have happened. She is her own worst enemy. Only ignorant people think they are above the law & also think they can disobey law enforcement. Make sure you are not one of those ignorant people.
-
I think the reason for folks’ outrage is the officer is supposed to be better than the person being questioned. He was picking on her because he didn’t like her ‘tude. She was being lippy which, while not smart, is not against the law. She was also (basically) compliant at first.
-
And she called him out on his disappointment at not catching her drunk and you can tell by the tone of voice on both officers she’s getting to them. It’s a difficult job, but they have to be better at controlling emotions than this.

She was uncooperative, resisted arrest, and attacked the police officer on the video. Are we supposed to feel bad because she is white and pretty (on the outside)?
-
No. We’re focusing on the fact the police officer was punching her head which can cause brain damage. There’s 1000 other ways to “nuetralize” a drunk teen. His need to punch her was completely unnecessary. And wildwood is known for using excessive force.
-
She wasn’t drunk
-
Exactly. She wasn’t drunk. She passed the breathalyzer with flying colors. She was being harassed because after the cop realized she wasn’t drunk he had nothing else to go on. He antagonize her because his ego was too big to just back down.
-
She could have been on other drugs, or maybe she is just naturally crazy . Passing breathalyzer doesn't give her an excuse to be uncooperative with a police officer or act like a crazy loon. No excuses to not cooperate with a police officer even if you are not guilty of anything
-
And there was no excuse for them to beat her like that.

I hope her non-compliance is being reviewed as a factor.
-
Her noncompliance isn’t the issue. The issue is that an officer of his size couldn’t take down a 100 pound woman without excessive force and help from his buddies. Someone needs to find a new job.
