3/?: That was all in the article, but Heather Knight built the story around three survivors who have been neglected by a system that has been neglecting survivors since its inception.

4/?: The crazy thing is, a chief complaint about how our system handles sexual assault is that victims’ voices are not heard. DA Boudin sent this survey with that in mind, but the shortcomings of the survey (which I must admit exist) were the focus of this story.

5/?: Have previous DAs sent a survey at all? The reader is left to wonder.

6/?:
@hknightsf bolsters her story with crime stats from the past year w/out mention of a pandemic that we know has exacerbated income inequality. That confounding variable should go without saying, but the tone of this article leads the reader to another, simpler explanation.Show this thread -
7/?: DA Boudin has taken steps but not fixed a tragic problem.
@sfchronicle capitalized on the perspectives of three survivors (as though they speak for all survivors) to say DA Boudin doesn’t prosecute violent crimes.Show this thread -
8/?: These perspectives are important, but the narrative that was built around them (see the title) is misleading.

9/9: The title is about survivors, but we know what the article was really about: Getting DA Boudin out so we can get tough on crime to protect the quality of life of the wealthy. Don’t fall for this tactic! The system is broken and will take more than nine months to fix.
