246 years of slavery 93 years of Jim Crow America has spent more time as a slave state than it has as a democracy. Ted Cruz and Josh Hawley's efforts to overturn the results of the election are not unprecedented. They are attempts to return America to it's racist roots.
It's clear that Hawley and Cruz view any election in which a Democrat wins as inherently illegitimate. But their ultimate goal is even darker: To remake America as a herrenvolk democracy; a country where only white people are able to participate in the democratic process.
