Sen. Schumer just moved the Senate into a closed session to discuss the Barrett's nomination stating “Before we go any further, we should shut off the cameras, close the Senate, and talk face to face about what this might mean for the country.” This hasn't happened in ten years.
The Senate has met in closed session only three times in the past twenty years. There's no way of knowing if this move will have an effect on any senators, but Sen. Schumer is at least trying to impress the seriousness of this vote on them.
