In a 2016 paper, Amy Coney Barrett described the Fourteenth Amendment as "possibly illegitimate." The Fourteenth Amendment requires due process and equal protection, and has served as the basis for such Supreme Court decisions as Brown v. Board, Roe v. Wade, and Obergefell.

To suggest that the Fourteenth Amendment is "possibly illegitimate" is to suggest that all people are not equal under the law. It is a rejection or more than a century and a half of progress towards greater civil rights.

This should raise as many alarm bells as when Amy Coney Barrett suggested that the right to vote and serve on juries can be limited to only virtuous decisions. The full paper can be found here: https://scholarship.law.upenn.edu/cgi/viewcontent.cgi?article=1619&context=jcl …

#AmyConeyBarrett should be extremely scrutinized. Before her current judicial nomination and approval she was considered too extreme by her peers:https://twitter.com/ropebelt/status/1307536582350643200?s=21 …Kiitos. Käytämme tätä aikajanasi parantamiseen. KumoaKumoa

Its an AMENDMENT by definition its legitimate.
-
It's more evil than you think. The argument is that bc southern states were "forced" to ratify it in order to be readmitted, it wasn't properly added as an amendment, and therefore isn't legit. Think about that.

"should be", but it won't be, because the Republicans don't actually care. They just want to keep their hold on power.
