We must establish a gatekeeper organization, the American Registry of Law Enforcement Officers, an accreditation body that would mirror the organizations that provide educational accreditation, ethics guidelines, and registration for RNs, doctors, and other medical professionals.
Certification and registration, in good standing, would be mandatory to work in LE in the US. Violation of established/pledged ethics/ROE/practice standards would result in temporary suspension or permanent revocation of your ability to work as law enforcement anywhere in the US.
