The Tulsa Massacre, Rosewood Massacre, & Elaine Massacre were not "race riots." They were acts of white supremacist domestic terrorism. The same is true for the Chicago race massacre in 1919, and so many others acts of white supremacist terrorism. These incidents are taught as "race riots"—if they're taught at all. The present is shaped by 400+ years of state-led & state-sanctioned violence against Black people.
