The complainant received a letter from CPSO closing the case and endorsing the MD's treatments along with a copy of the @cpso_ca Complementary Medicine standards. The standards do not address the issue of children and informed consent.

By refusing to consult real autism researchers or experts on this matter, the CPSO took the word of one MD over the entire autism research field -which does not endorse chelation for autism

The CPSO has a long way to go in terms of understanding autism and the rights of disabled children and adults. By supporting anti-vax treatments of autistic children, they also do a tremendous disservice to their reputation as a scientific body.

Other jurisdictions, such as the UK, have standards in place to prevent pseudoscientific autism treatments.

I’m skeptical of the veracity of this tweet. All letters from the CPSO regarding complaints are marked and kept confidential. If this was leaked and is verified many of us in paeds would certainly be ready to challenge it.

I believe the complaint was lodged by a person affiliated with A4A and they have direct knowledge of the decision, of that makes a difference.
