  7. Having an exceptionally stupid problem where my nearly-defeated mothpocalypse has returned, except instead of colonizing bags of grain, they've colonized my bag of mealworms. So now the bag is full of... even more worms...

  10. oh yeah and in other goods news, our monstrose Myrtillocactus geometrizans is pupping :] the pup looks like it has an irregular growth plate too, so, possibly more cresting on the horizon

  11. D. gigas is a toughie, you need 2 genetically distinct individuals to get seed, but most of the plants in the US come from cuttings of the same plant. It’s also extremely difficult to find seed. I have 4 gigas plants currently from 3 different int’l sources… Now maybe 4 sources?

  13. Scream… after one failed attempt to get his seeds to me (sadly crushed in transit), a Dorstenia grower from France successfully sent his seeds to me. Dorstenia brownii (to the best of my knowledge) is not currently in cultivation in the US. So excited to grow these!

  15. Bonus Dorstenia mannii, who turned from a stick into a bush and who apparently isn’t self fertile either, and Dorstenia elata, recovering well and finally putting out deep purple hypanthodia again after losing a rhizome to fungal infection.

  16. Dorstenias are happy after the rainstorms. Some nice inflorescences… Dorstenia foetida variegata w endocarps showing, Dorstenia foetida ‘Super Clone,’ and lovely Dorstenia lavrani (male) (female hasn’t felt like flowering yet! One day) (just dioecy things)
