And sure, it was originally sung by a Madam to a group of rural sex workers in Texas, but I think we can all relate.

I’m reminded, in this very tough year, that “Hard Candy Christmas” is such a beautiful, real, painful Christmas song with hope. Maybe it’s for you this year. “But still I won’t let sorrow bring me way down.”

My column at today is on the shifts in urban voting is about just this kind of phenomenon. While the suburbs swung left (at least at the top of the ticket), city centers inched to the right.

Unfortunately, a lot of that reaction in national media circles can be attributed to the fact that Trump was on the side of opening, and therefore, it became a moral obligation to be on the other side of the matter, data be damned. It was so stupid.

Well, neato. It is now late November. Back when we could have done the right thing and avoided these disastrous results for so many families, the people saying “open the schools” (with data to back it!) were treated like reckless sociopaths. Glad folks are coming around, I guess?

Fairfax is one of the most expensive failures in the country, most of all to the most vulnerable students, and leadership seems intent on remaining out of in-person instruction on parents’ dime for a long, long time.

Husband, before he explains the deep narrative origins of a new gaming release: “Put on your seatbelt, we going for a nerd ride.” Me: “Thank the Lord you’re handsome.” Pic for proof.
