Yes. $5 million was supposed to be the floor. For about 5 years it only got $4.5 million. Even with increasing to $6 mil this year, it’s still owed $1.5 mil. Still $5 mil/yr is a drop in the bucket compared to what other cities do.

It really should scale up as use tax returns📈 instead of a flat $5 million for affordable housing and health. The intent was that to be floor not a ceiling. I'd have to go back to see exact numbers but over 50% of use tax goes to public safety. City could easily increase AHTF $.

One of the best parts of this year’s bail out is that Black mamas who have been freed though the bail outs in previous years are now organizing THEIR OWN bailouts to free other Black mamas.

This work is happening all over the US, including in Missouri. Pre-trial detention devastates families. Your donation could literally save lives. So please give.

It’s almost Mother’s Day and you can give the gift of freedom and love by giving to the fund. This work eventually led us to launch and is so important.

Now homes on Union, Delmar, Page are “hot” and considered “investment” properties. Black families lost those homes, especially after the housing crisis or were forced to sell at a loss and now property values are expected to skyrocket and who gains that wealth?

To be clear if has changed her positions on housing equity, I’m here for it. If she truly supports this “greenlining” initiative she will make sure that athe affordable housing trust fund to completely funded this year.

White Families get to pass down their homes because they are in “good” neighborhoods w/ the best schools and have instant wealth from the value or the home. If Black families in STL get to pass down houses, the home is typically worth less than $

People lived in houses for 50+ years and they never owned them. Higher interest rates, racial zoning and steering +lack of equity based on property values forced families out of their homes

It’s heartbreaking to see how neighborhoods are being “redeveloped” absent the acknowledgment of racist policies that crafted the divestment and blight we see. White peoples buying “investment properties” that belonged to Black families that couldn’t access refinancing loans.

Redlining systematically stripped Black families from wealth accumulation, creating harsh conditions in our communities. The violence we see in STL is in part because of policies like this. Krewson was a alderperson for decades & did the exact opposite of what she supports now.

I haven't seen a lot of coverage about this. There will be a MAJOR strike Wednesday affecting the most used rideshare apps. In part, Uber drivers are striking to demand a living wage. If you planned to use Uber or Lyft tomorrow, consider alternate travel modes.

Don’t cross the picket line tomorrow. Stand with Uber & Lyft drivers as they demand better pay and conditions. Apps off 7am - 9am. Take a cab, walk or take public transportation.
