    In a recent interview, Dune star Timothee Chalamet reveals that lately he's been obsessed with Yoshyuki Tomino's "Mobile Suit Gundam" franchise "I love you, Denis, but Dune has got nothing on Gundam and what Tomino has created. Time to use up that cash for those model kits."

    The one thing did awesomely from start to finish was smoke/energy/effects animation. The rest of the animation (and writing, etc) was...what it was...but the effects weirdly rocked. Kudos to you, whoever animated that stuff.

    I’m so glad I switched to Japanese audio before starting the second episode (Tatooine Rhapsody). It was a blast. I watched it again later in English and…oof. Ouch and oof.

    Honestly, jealous of both of them

    Lunch at a local outdoor cafe. There were several feral cats. A little guy hopped up into my lap. He snuggled in, rubbed his nose against my mustache, let me pet him gently for a bit, and put his paws on my chest briefly before finally departing as easily as he had arrived.

    I don’t understand why people think books shouldn’t be self-indulging for the author…if a book isn’t self indulgent why would I waste years writing it

    Thanks to the vague announcement of a new Gundam thing (Doan’s Island), I’ve seen folks complaining about how dumb it is to remake an old, “bad” thing. Isn’t it MUCH stupider to remake something that’s already good? Aside from rare exceptions, isn’t that almost always pointless?
