So proud of this piece for : "Decades of research show that when women are empowered, countries are more secure and more prosperous. None of this happens if a girl’s reproductive rights and educational opportunities remain unprotected."

I realized today that im beyond depleted. I’m out of creativity, focus, passion, care... and it’s just unfulfilling. Everything feels like its a bit useless. And I know so many other women who feel like this.

Family celebrations over Thanksgiving could mean funerals by New Year's. Not worth it. Be careful. 2021 will be better, gradually, if we work together. Have a happy, socially connected, physically distant Thanksgiving.

One of the saddest things for me is really liking the owners or mission of a company, clicking on the STAFF page of the company's website, and seeing zero Black people.

"Pace" at which people are working is unsustainable. Asking how they are doing helps, but need to address: fear of losing jobs, lack of clarity re. priorities making hard to plan, lack of boundary management skills.

I am unsettled by how many people on my service have tested positive in the last 4 days alone. Published numbers likely underestimate reality, based on what we are seeing in hospital. Urgent action is needed.

I'm the granddaughter of vets. I'm cognizant of imperialist regimes, and a system that failed Indigenous, Black, Sikh and racialized members of the Royal/Canadian forces. I wear a beaded poppy, and part of remembering is to honour the poor and marginalized.
