    Great news. The FDA authorized the first rapid, at-home test, paving a potential path for more widespread testing outside healthcare settings, writes in . Accessible testing is key to end the pandemic & reopen the US safely.

    The FDA gave an emergency green light to the first rapid coronavirus test that can be run at home in just 30 minutes. But it requires a prescription, and has not been evaluated in asymptomatic people.
