    🔹302 National Guard members are at the State Veteran Homes and 8 other long-term care facilities in the state 🔹525 LTC facilities with COVID-19 cases 🔹27,153 COVID-19 cases in these facilities 🔹State Veteran’s Homes - 366 residents COVID-19 positive, 137 deaths

    🔹COVID-19 UPDATE🔹 NJ has requested support from the Federal Veteran Administration for 5 LTC facilities. 🔹1,216 new cases, 142,704 total 🔹244 new deaths, 9,946 total 🔹3,958 hospitalizations - decline of 51% from peak 🔹1,157 in ICU, 78% of ICU patients on ventilators

    Sadly, today we must report that another 244 members of our New Jersey family have passed from complications. Our statewide total now stands at 9,946. In all likelihood, we will pass a solemn milestone tomorrow. Let’s never forget the lives we’ve lost.

    LOOK: We are not out of the woods yet. We can make the cast that, at this moment in time, we’re the most-impacted state in the region. This is why we need to keep up with social distancing, even as we begin our restart and recovery.

    NEW: The federal Veterans Administration is providing five, 10-person Health Care Strike Teams who will join the staffs at some of our long-term care facilities until June 30th. They are expected to be in-state by the end of this week.

    NEW: Yesterday, we received an additional 1,216 positive test results, bringing our statewide total to 142,704. For tests from May 10th, the daily positivity rate remained at 22 percent.
