    “In exchange for a phased removal of federal officers brought in to protect federal property in the city, Brown’s office has agreed to help guard against vandalism of the Mark O. Hatfield U.S. Courthouse using state resources alongside the Federal Protective Service.”

    BREAKING: Gov. Kate Brown has announced federal troop presence in Portland will be phased out beginning Thursday. State troopers will help protect the federal courthouse when they depart.

    I *also* think it's not cool that one non-Black person has so much financial and public power over Riot Ribs. Riot Ribs is not one person. I know collectively they've been working to change their model, but as it stands it's weird as hell.

    Hello! The misogyny and violence at Riot Ribs are super bad. Those actions are despicable, and I do not defend them in any form. Riot Ribs has been trying to feed people since July 4th, and I support that mission.

    I don't know if I'd call six-block area that contains a federal courthouse, a jail, two city parks, a federal park and another federal office the "soul" of Portland.

    Oregon's US Attorney Billy Williams: 23 people arrested at or near courthouse last night. 83 fed arrests total; of those 62 pending criminal cases. Williams says of nightly violence: "It is absolutely destroying the soul of our city."
