    Maybe polls are like an NYU class discussion where the liberal kids take up all the space and lurking in the back are dudes who disagree but won’t participate and seem isolated in that setting but still contemptuous of the others. Maybe they’re much of the country.

    For the 20th anniversary of the Women, Peace & Security agenda, a 1997 photo of girls in a Kurdish village in Turkey's east. Kurdish men used to taunt oppressors by saying: "Children are our nuclear bomb". I hope these girls had more choice in the matter than their mothers.
