Common passed on this beat I made to a jam

unbelievable. It's also ridic how many talented rappers have an awful ear for beats. 9th can keep feeding Dot those tracks.
-
And that's arguably one of the best songs on the album. Mind blowing story!!
-
dope shit dog see u at the promontory tonight

-
Same problem I got with rappers. They never see what we "producers" hear
-
But most the process is usually a producer sends over beats and the artists picks what they can rap too? It's not really a collaboration?
-
Somewhat. But they pick the beat. Even if they are in the studio they still take it and do nothing with it.
-
When you make a beat, are you making a story or making beat that sounds good?
-
When I make music I always have an idea on who I want on it and what I want to hear. It's up to the artist to see that. It's a hit and miss
-
Sometimes when u send beats to someone you Hope they hear what u hear and do what u think they gonna do to it.
-
You can send the idea of what u hear (feel) but u also have to give them the space to create.
-
I remember Kanye said the this can't be life beat he wanted Hov to rap like he's flossing, but got the introspective Hov
