    Should we ban synthetic fertilizer which will reduce runoff and dead zones? If we do, then there will be less food for us as we add more people to the US (and the world). Who should starve? Manatees or People? Should we better balance people and planet?

    $1100 is just the obvious cost of raising a child. We must start to take into account the priceless environmental and societal cost of each new life we bring onto this planet.

    Over $1100 a month to raise a child in the US. WOW! Huge economic cost to parents! And societal costs, more schools, roads, healthcare, water, sewer. And environmental costs, more resources consumed, more pollution, more climate change, less wildlife.
