I wish it were possible somehow to purchase dead MMOs like @WildStar as like single-player games, so that you could enjoy them offline forever.

Gosh, yes, I can imagine. After dumping years into the creation of a game, it would be nice knowing it could still exist in some capacity to be enjoyed, even if there's no online play & no more upkeep from devs. I would still pay for that option.
