On Sunday, I came home to my DC apartment for the first time since the crash. I was in the hospital for a little over a week and then did some recovering at my dad’s place in Springfield for almost two weeks. It feels good to be home and to sleep in my own bed. 🧵

This is as comprehensive a write-up as I’ve seen on the Revised Criminal Code and the swirl of misinformation around it. DC residents deserve to feel and be safe. In pursuit of that, we need a criminal code that works. Thanks for bringing some focus to the conversation.

Huge shout out to , who diagnosed a problem w/ DPW’s criteria for abandoned vehicles, prescribed specific solutions (resolutions.anc.dc.gov/AttachmentsFil), and for & team for drafting & passing this bill. The old definitions were confusing & frustrating for residents.

🤔Post Local headline calls the criminal code update 'controversial,' which is an interesting word choice for legislation passed 13-0 by DC council. (The rejection of Bowser's veto was 12-1, as well.)
