How did you arrive that the conclusion of that article is "give us voice chat"? AFAICT it's pointing out that toxicity is directed at other minorities than women, and that it's a problem. Community needs to stop doing and allowing it, but it wasn't commenting on Blizzard's role.

My name in WoW was 'Supgirl' for a long time. I used to raid with my guild and get my sister to talk on Ventrilo for me. I was given an unbelievable amount of free stuff. In fact, I actually got chosen for a BIS epic because 'ladies first'.

The article starts pretty poorly. > "Being a girl is hard". Well, no. No it's not. I should know; I've been one all my life. This invalidates other experiences and tries to speak for all other women, which is unfair. It goes on to try make some good points about harassment /1

taking on more forms than just the things we typically see, and that it can look like excessively "nice" treatment, which only singles you out and comes with social expectations. And it points out that harassment is targeted at many minorities in the gaming community /2
