Dave Isay created a program called “One Small Step” to get Americans from across the political spectrum to engage in a face-to-face dialogue with each other, in an effort to combat what Isay calls the “culture of contempt.” https://cbsn.ws/3n7fELy pic.twitter.com/IF6Mg590KY

The whole idea for fascists, ahem, & the like, is to distrust media. The news is there. Deciphering is up to the reader/listener. To me, the larger problem is an ignorant, & stubborn, & privileged, populace who has been taught that only their history/thought/pov matters.

The problem of fascism in the early mid 1900’s wasn’t a lack of listening. There were fascists, and their propagation of fascism.

How are you supposed to communicate with racists, fascists, insurrectionists, terrosists? The divide is never about "culture".

Yep, this proposed “dialogue” is mostly with them in mind, you can bet on that.

Contempt of bigots and bigotry, of misogyny, and fear-mongering against “other,” is contempt that is called for— not the cause of what is contemptible.
