This all comes after the comdo developer attempted, on february 5th, to hold a "friends of OSHA" event with local community organizations. Not a single organization showed up to support the project, and the event was cancelled.
The area of Hochelaga where OSHA plans to construct luxury condos has, until recently, been an area where sex workers and drug users have been largely tolerated by police. As the condos advance, activists say that police have engaged in a "social cleansing" crackdown.

Along with the neighborhood's housing committee, Comité BAILS, other organizations have come out in opposition to the condos, including L'Anonyme and Dopamine, which work to create a safe environment for drug users.
