The dad who wrote the letter is not "fringe"; he asks responsible clinicians to address the social contagion affecting girls/young women that parents & others are observing, but activists deny. That's what's irresponsible, not a letter-writing campaign. https://twitter.com/4th_WaveNow/status/984061242758389760 …https://twitter.com/TransgenderSoul/status/984069975018229761 …

In fact
@TransgenderSoul , you've been a voice of reason about this. Tell us, what would YOU do, as a parent, if your knowledge about yr own daughter was dismissed as "hate" or "transphobia" by a clinician? Some of our "AFAB" daughters are desisters, like ones you described here.pic.twitter.com/Rza7IyZmNc

We encourage you to read the article you linked more carefully. Put yourself in parents' shoes, parents who know how hastily their daughters demand T and top surgery, yet their words fall on deaf ears. Writing letters is hardly "fringe" or "irresponsible."

Your words: "coming to terms with irreversible changes"; "suffered through the process." Can you really not comprehend that parents, called "haters" and "bigots" by the very clinicians who should be protecting our daughters, are simply asking to be heard?pic.twitter.com/Av3cmRofW5

You acknowledge the trend in girls/young women seeking help from you (for your trouble, the WPATH FB thread was cut off after you said it), yet spread the lie that a father asking for a **letter-writing** campaign to raise awareness is somehow an extreme action?

You KNOW what is going on. Why not encourage your colleagues to engage parents in meaningful dialogue, instead of demonizing them? You're better than that. Than this, for our suddenly-trans, impulsive teen daughters:pic.twitter.com/itIbZa1dpN

Does PADad sound "fringe" and "irresponsible"? "Dangerously ignorant and aggressive?" Notice how Hind assumes PADad's child is a "young man." Hind has never met the daughter, no idea of the situation. The parent backlash is exactly because of this kind of demonization/assumption.pic.twitter.com/SHZO4i53Xk

Why are clinicians saying NO? Ypu cannot predict how a body will react to hormones. Some ppl barely see any changes others change a lot and very quickly. Some react to certain methods or brands, others don't. If you want to change your look see a hair stylist or get a tattoo.

Because the parents are oblivious and not available to be spoken to openly by their daughters. They know their parents would treat them badly for it. But go ahead with your fantasy.
