Why does it matter if powerful private corporations like Twitter, Google, & Facebook show massive bias in which accounts they shut down? Because, like it or not, social media is the public square of the 21st century They're monopolies & should be regulated like public utilities
...unless the new ones are COMMITTED to free speech in a way that Twitter, FB, and Google are not. Are they?

Not possible. They all work on startup models which are like this: build a new product: gain users: sell the product. I think people have a better chance to regulate Facebook and Twitter than to rely on the hope one small network will be able to change the whole busines model.

Say more about why you think it's "not possible" an alternate Twitter or FB could have strong commitment to free speech & eschew censorship, "bannings" & suspensions (except in cases that rise to criminal incitement; what happened in Rwanda with radio incitement is instructive).

I get your arguments, though. Since 2004 to 2018 I was at so many "social networks" who were a bliss in the beginning and then they ALL DIED. So, what I'm saying is: not possible under current data capitalism models.
