The more they attempt to deny, squelch, and censor investigation into the huge increase in girls presenting to gender clinics, the more their motives become suspect. It's on a par with denying the epidemic of bulima, anorexia, and cutting that occurred as prior social contagions.

Sorry to jump on this thread. But isn't the issue you're discussing just an identity problem? No rapid onset of gender dysphoria, just an identity crisis. Hence problem solved when they find their identity within a lgbt (or other) world

Can I ask which country works in a model of prescribing hormones on 1st appointment. That certainly not something I've heard of before. There is such a difference in identity problems and being trans, seems absolutely mad to force these kids into a box.

There is 100% nowhere in the UK where you will get given hormones at the first appointment. They work within world recommended guidelines which have to be followed. They also do not prescribe hormones under the age of 17/18. And you have to go to a specialist service and have

First, things are very different in the US, where "informed consent" clinics are the norm for 18+, and teens as young as 13-14 do get hormones and even surgery. Second, Dr. Helen Webberley prescribed hormones to younger children in UK. She has been lauded as a hero by Mermaids.
