...The nuanced discussions are taking place and because of the intensity of the tranphobia from die-hard #TERF activists and because of the unyielding wall it creates, TERFy criticism has been taken out of the dialogue.

"Trans women are men" is an act of discrimination.

How does it constitute discrimination exactly?

It's highly ironic that Oger considers a flat statement like "trans women are men" to be "discriminatory" or "hate speech" when there is no incitement in it. The signs we see over and over again that DO incite hatred come from the other side, as in, "Kill all TERFs."

Feminists are not a protected class under human rights law in Canada. ...Nor are ice cream haters or art collectors. The sentence "Kill all TERFs" is obviously offensive and may be prohibited on other grounds than human rights law.

Have you noticed that you take reasonable arguments I make and provide facts to support and counter them with individual acts of bad behaviour? Throwing insults over a wall is not dialogue.

The point is, an opinion is not an incitement to harm. I have not seen you actually answer the question of why some stranger's opinion which disagrees with your self-perception is discriminatory. I see a lot of obfuscation, but no answer.

By attempting to engage you in a rational discussion, I'm showing respect to you as a human being who differs with me. Conversely, you hounding and even wanting to bring charges vs. a woman who carried a sign is the behavior of a punitive authoritarian. It's a tyrant mindset.

There are laws put in place to protect transgender people from transphobia. One such law bans the publishing of hate in public. I expect Canada's laws to be applied.

Explain in clear, concise language how one woman carrying a sign that says "Trans women are men" constitutes "publishing hate." The sign did not say "I hate trans women." Did it? You may not actually be happy with the legal test case you are agitating for.

...and if you win your test case, the world will see that Canada, once a bastion of the best of democratic values, has fallen into an Orwellian abyss.
