...In such an environment, all push back against trans self-identity and trans rights are met with exactly the same response from the "trans warriors" that we see from "feminist warriors" about patriarchy. What's been missed in
#TERF push-back is that we have a valid complaint...1 reply 0 retweets 2 likes -

...When people answer our valid complaint about how we are treated in society with ridicule and transphobia (this thread a case in point), then like all other oppressed people resisting their oppressors, we seek wins where we can: in politics and in the courts...

...The nuanced discussions are taking place and because of the intensity of the tranphobia from die-hard
#TERF activists and because of the unyielding wall it creates, TERFy criticism has been taken out of the dialogue.1 reply 0 retweets 2 likes -

There is nuance, but the exec summary is that in Canada, discriminating against somebody on the basis of their gender identity is prohibited. A trans woman like me is legally recognized as a woman and as a female. Disagreement is based on gender identity ONLY.

...or on the basis of perception of somebody's gender identity. Arguing I am not Female or a woman is based on my expressing that I am transgender, as there is no fact to support a disputing claim.

So you really do believe the state should have the right to punish & attempt to control someone's perceptions. A perception is a thought. You are literally endorsing prosecution for a thought crime. You do realize governments which attempt to control thought actually fail at it?

People who live under tyrannical governments may be imprisoned for their ideas; they may be forced to make statements they don't believe. But what's inside their heads will not change under such duress. If anything, their resistance builds.
