Good to know the expert in pediatric transition isn't worried about sterilizing trans kids. We can all breathe easy now. (Except for the pesky little detail that without natal puberty, gametes aren't viable. Oops.)pic.twitter.com/iGptPx3Tb0

Banking sperm or ova is possible for people who've been through puberty. Zinnia Jones specifically says puberty blocking isn't a problem for fertility=dead wrong. US gender docs say virtually 100% of kids put on blockers proceed to cross-sex hormones & never undergo natal puberty
Apart from the limitations noted by authors here, the births/transplantation successes were in women who resumed female maturation-- not trans men who never went through female puberty AND have been marinating in testosterone for a decade or more. Rather a different population.pic.twitter.com/frWHbjZXgw
But interesting that you think the authors' extremely cautious conclusions about potential reproductive preservation in female cancer patients come remotely close to "putting to rest" any concerns about future fertility in trans men. "Decisively" even!
"Transitioning sterilizes you" ceases to be a realistic statement when there are this many options for fertility preservation.
Yr original tweet: concerns re: puberty blockers/fertility can be "decisively put to rest." Transitioning doesn't sterilize (all) adults. Blockers + x-sex hormones sterilize children. Pediatric gender doctors freely admit that. You overreached. Hubris will do that, every time.pic.twitter.com/d4Z17L4KuE
Some of us happen to think the right to reproduce (or not) is a human right for adults, and that minors cannot give informed consent to treatments that sterilize them. We also have a problem with adult-transitioning activists promoting peds transition; we consider it hypocritical
Sahar Sadjadi's article covers the ethical bases. It's a good one. Trans activists do themselves no favors by jeering at parents and others who have concerns.pic.twitter.com/3hNOcIovh4
