I think part of the reason why some ppl are resistant to accepting this is that they fail to understand what "on average" means and its implications on individual choices. My own occupational choices would, "on average," suggest I'm a woman, which I'm evidently not.

Right. Individuals can fall anywhere on the bell curve. It's also odd that the very idea that women ON AVERAGE might prefer to work with people over things (or machines) is seen as insulting/degrading/inferior.

There's also little doubt that many men who have a sexist agenda use that same "on average" as a cudgel against women, which, in turn, understandably makes a lot of women suspicious and resentful of claims that can be weaponized against them.

Yes. But misuse of data doesn't necessarily mean the data is wrong, or that all such research is done in bad faith or to undermine women.

It's about averages, not claiming every individual is the same. Human beings are primates who are subjected to evolutionary pressures like every other animal. And yes, we have culture. If you're actually interested, read the research and then we'll talk. Or don't. It's up to you.

Disagree that transgenderism is supported by findings in evolutionary psychology. That's classic MISUSE of data. Our brains/bodies evolved as a unified whole--the body didn't evolve to be "wrong."

Brain scans of trans people indicate, if anything, differences in sexual preference. And acknowledging some biological influence on behavior doesn't mean anyone is somehow in the wrong body. http://www.sexologytoday.org/2016/01/on-russos-is-there-something-unique.html …

Yes, everyone is biased. Doesn't mean all scientific inquiry--especially when replicated over and over--is primarily the result of bias. It's mystifying to me why people accept that hormones (like T) powerfully affect the body, but somehow not the brain/behavior.

There are several studies showing increase in spatial abilities/decrease in verbal in FTMs administered T for even a few weeks (not self reported, but on standardized tests).

Isn't the bigger problem that "people jobs" are devalued/not paid as well?
