Way off our usual topic, but in line w/our critique of selective science denial: Too many ppl confuse weather w/climate CHANGE. Study what's happening in the Arctic before you jeer at the US cold snap. Calling it "global warming" was a big mistake; sounds cozy and mild.
No laws PREVENT invention or sales. But politicians can accelerate or decelerate public acceptance/adoption via things like legislation, executive orders, government contracts, etc. What's the argument here? It's what government does.

Its called creating a false distortion. Without subsidies, wind power does not get built, because it is not economically viable in the long haul. While renewables will play a role where practical, they will never be the primary source of energy.

"But politicians can accelerate or decelerate public acceptance/adoption" This sounds a lot like fascism.
