The false memory thing did awful damage not only to falsely accused people, but even more to those like you who suffered ACTUAL abuse. It was most destructive to the people it set out to help.

"Recovered memories" was started by authors of a book w/no grasp of how memory works; no qualifications. All other data shows traumatic memories are not repressed--they remain vivid for a lifetime.Women were told any difficulties they had were most likely due to forgotten incest.
-
"If your life shows signs you were abused, then you were." Women were encouraged to construct memories of abuse with zero recollection. The authors were strong feminists who cared about abuse survivors. It backfired & caused a backlash. They were unqualified. so say what they did

I have been of the opinion for a while that transsexuals would have a greater tendency to dissociative disorders. There are people who sleepwalk and change gender.

You are hurting your arguments by making this kind of comparison. You need to find a real research program through a University to study the phenomenon of late onset gender dysphoria
-
Does the comparison not work when it is simply noting the contagion aspect? the mind is an amazing thing, and that which is most in our face at the moment can lead some astray.
