One can have a nuanced position that testosterone is powerful and has an effect, without saying T levels are determinative/nurture is irrelevant, OR that population averages say anything about an individual.

It's not just Soh. Melissa Hines & colleagues have decades of replicated research on the impact of prenatal T on childhood play behaviors, as well as a new (n=5000) study showing gender-atypical play (irrespective of parental approval) is correlated with later homosexuality.

No matter the relative contribution of nature-nurture, or how atypical any individual is vis-a-vis population averages, people aren't "born in the wrong body." A brain in a female body is female (converse for male). Brain-body are one.

...and given that there's a strong correlation between gender-atypicality and homosexuality, identifying kids and youth as "trans" is a form of (even if unintentional) proactive gay conversion therapy.
