You know what? It is profoundly inappropriate to refer to a child coming out - whether as gay or trans - as "diagnosing". Being gay or trans is not an illness; a diagnosis is not needed. Being LG requires no medical intervention. If trans activists were only arguing for "identities" to be recognized, it would be one thing. But now we have 12-yr-olds permanently sterilized in the name of "identity." Any thinking person can grasp the problem here.

Can you link me to the reliable sources which have told you of 12-year-old children being sterilised in the name of trans identity? This has historically been done to intersex children to enforce a gender binary, of course.

In the US, children are started blockers as young as 9 or 10, then on cross-sex hormones as young as 12-14. This permanently sterilizes the child. Please DM for more links. But you could start with this video, where leading psychologist acknowledges this: https://vimeo.com/185178522

Hormone blockers do not permanently sterilise: they delay puberty only. I'm sorry you've been misinformed. I'm out & about at the moment, but I'll tweet you the links when I get home later, so you'll know better in future.

You missed what was said entirely. Blockers FOLLOWED DIRECTLY by cross-sex hormones sterilize. Even gender doctors are aware of this. Did you even watch the video of Diane Ehrensaft linked for you, where she says that very thing?

Natal puberty required for maturation of gametes. When blocked, & cross-sex hormones administered immediately after, fertility is permanently forfeited. This is well known; not a secret. Immature gametes cannot be banked. Here is but one of many sources. …https://autogynephiliatruth.files.wordpress.com/2015/07/sadjadi-2013.pdf …pic.twitter.com/WXxjv35gET

Then why were you trying to claim that children are being sterilised by being given puberty blockers, when you know that's not true?

RE-READ-THE TWEET. Never said blockers alone sterilized; said BOTH and this is being done routinely and early in the United States. Done here.

Okay. In the UK, puberty blockers are sometimes prescribed: hormone treatment has to wait til 16: surgery til 18 at earliest. Of course there's no issue with social transition, except such opposition as you find with the Christian Right / TERFs.

Oddly enough, the Dutch clinician-researchers who pioneered use of puberty blockers for trans kids caution against social transition of young ones, which is more and more in vogue everywhere. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/21216800 pic.twitter.com/yqRRGzX9LN
