I didn't read it as implying that. Only saying that the study in question didn't say what Signal said. Certainly people desist, and their stories should be heard.

GLAAD says “there was never any evidence that any of the adolescents actually desisted” this heavily implies that they question whether any kids at all desist, but if I understand it correctly there is actually no evidence for either side:we don’t know what happened after they

Replying to @sundinnnn @BendersShadow1 and
chose to not return to the clinic. A more correct conclusion would hence be that there was never any evidence of how many desisted or how many stayed trans.

Right. Agreed. Still doesn't mean that Jesse was right so that point still stands.

Here are the FACTS about that study. Singal corrected his "goof" after I included him this thread years ago. Try reading the study yourself.https://twitter.com/4th_WaveNow/status/759117168332173312?s=20 …

Yes, 80 desisted from the study. That doesn't mean that all 80 detransitioned, which is the point GLAAD is making. Perhaps they are meaning that when they say "no evidence kids desisted" since Signal's caveat is that they went back to being cis.

Seems airtight, but you're forgetting that the majority of desisters had their *parents* till out the measures. Obvious bias for those who might want their kids to detrans. No way of knowing.

It wasn't a "majority." Did you read Singal's post? "Of the 80 desisters, 46 adolescents sent back the questioners (57.5%) and 6 (7.5%) adolescents refused to participate, but allowed their parents to fill out the parent questionnaires"

Ope. I misread that as saying both groups had parents fill it out. Fair enough then. I'd be curious to see the measures used to determine the tipping point for dysphoric/not dysphoric.
